Denny’s robbery goes awry

Attention all Denny’s customers! Thanks to four Denny’s customers from Hawthorne California, we now know the proper way to deal with an armed robber when they threaten you in your car.

In California, an armed robber took on a full car of people in a fairly well-lit Denny’s parking lot, but things didn’t end too well for him.

According to Controversialtimes.com, video surveillance shows that on March 15, around 3 a.m., an armed man jumped into the rear passenger side door of a full car. While one of the passengers jumped from the car and ran for help inside of the restaurant, the driver seemed to have a better idea. The driver put the car in reverse and quickly sped backwards. The man was thrown from the car. Landing on his feet he made a run for his getaway car. Unfortunately for the criminal, the driver of his getaway car got away without him. The car full of victims sped right at the alleged robber, hitting him full-on, throwing him in the air.

While it seems that the alleged robber had had enough, it was not the end of his run of bad luck. The article states that somewhere in the chaos of being run over by his victims, he shot himself in the head with the same weapon he used to threaten them just minutes before. He survived but was in need of medical attention.

When I first read this news article, I thought it was an exaggerated story spun by some kids, because that’s just too crazy to actually be true. However, after watching the surveillance video, I saw that not one detail was off. After the man was thrown out of his car and his getaway driver left him, the victims drove at him full speed and hit him from behind, throwing him in the air and causing him to pull the trigger on his handgun, sending a bullet to his head. Although the gunman clearly did an awful thing, I can’t help but feel bad for him. The circumstances were just so crazy and I don’t think that someone could have recreated that whole mess if they tried. And I’d like to know why anyone would ever feel inclined to jump into the back of someone’s car with a gun? There is nothing that ever makes that okay. You can’t just threaten someone to get that you want. It’s wrong, and honestly if the alleged robber would have used a tad bit more common sense, the whole fiasco could have been avoided.

So when someone jumps into your car window in a Denny’s parking lot, you simply have to throw the car in reverse, and run over the criminal that made the mistake of jumping into your car.
As a lesson to anyone thinking about robbing customers in a Denny’s parking lot, don’t, for you will soon regret it.
