Nutrition Sensation is the newest fad in Monroe. It is located on 40 N Roessler St. and is the popular breakfast spot for many Monroe teens.
The club serves Herbalife meal replacement shakes in 36 different flavors. The more popular seem to be the dessert themed flavors such as German chocolate or wedding cake. They will offer seasonal flavors such as pumpkin or gingerbread around holidays.
The shop opened in October 2010 and has grown through word-of-mouth advertisement ever since. It has expanded to two other shops in Monroe County – Nutrition Island at 8078 Secor Rd. in Lambertville and Nutrition Explosion at 1208 S. Telegraph Rd.
It has grown among busy adults, too. Many businessmen and women chose the spot for their quick breakfast. The club also offers diet management services and training for events like the half marathon and Ironman.
Jeff Langton and his wife, Donna, opened the shop after they had their own experiences with Herbalife. Jeff said they both were in poor health until they tried Herbalife products. They saw their health and energy levels improve.
Many younger customers use the club simply as a good way to start their day. Senior Austin Whitelaw said he goes to the shop on days of track meets or whenever he feels that he needs a good breakfast.
There are three parts to the Nutrition Sensation breakfast. The first is a shot of aloe. Aloe is used in popular skin care products, but it is also good for supporting the digestive system. The second part is the herbal tea. The tea is full of B vitamins and antioxidants that help the system fight infections and viruses as well as make the user more alert. The third and final part is the popular Styrofoam cups that are seen around school in the mornings, or rather, the shake inside the cup. The high-nutrient protein shake that Nutrition Sensation offers is unique in taste, thicker and more flavorful than most protein shakes.
