MHS sports create long lasting memories

The work, time, and struggle finally has an ending but it’s a bittersweet feeling. Being a part of MHS athletics is a great way to meet new people and try new things but when having to say goodbye, it can be tough. The MHS varsity boys tennis team has shaped me into the hard working student that I am today.

Having to wrap my school work and job schedule around my tennis practices and matches has given me the skill of time management. After every day, I come home exhausted, drained of my energy, and ready to give up but the hardworking skill that being on this team taught me was to never let me give up.

Practice was every day after school and having a good coach that always showed me what it was like to work hard shaped me into a new person. Without this push, I wouldn’t be prepared for the real world, as it is a hectic environment I’m ready to take on.

I have been a part of the MHS varsity tennis team for three years, and there are a lot of benefits that I enjoyed over the years. I met a lot of new people from MHS that I would have never met before. Also being a part of a team that moves around a lot, I have been able to connect with people around the state. The tennis team has become a second family, and the memories that have arose from the fantastic three years will be a part of me forever.

Even though I wasn’t great at the sport, I am proud of myself and my other teammates that I grew up with over the years. Being a part of this team has made me into a better person and prepared me for the real world, but it’s time to say goodbye to the family. The Trojan spirit lies within and so will my MHS varsity tennis team family. The memories we made will always be in my heart.
