Student reviews Kiku Sushi

As a sushi fiend, I can really respect a good sushi place. Dolce Vita has its small sushi addition which is very nice and convenient when you want something to go, but I couldn’t imagine sitting in Dolce Vita and eating sushi. The atmosphere is all wrong and just off. Now, we have a place for takeout and dine-in sushi. Kiku Sushi Bar and Grill is here and is ready to take on the biggest sushi fanatics in town.

Kiku has many options. They have soups and appetizers and even small desserts for everyone to enjoy. As you make your way through the menu, you can really see things progress. The chef’s rolls are always my go-to. Eel is a personal favorite, but a simple shrimp roll is good, also.

The sushi was brought out on a single large plate that was paired with chopsticks, wasabi and ginger. On one plate, we got our three large chef rolls and a regular (6 pcs.) avocado roll for my younger sister. The chef rolls were something out of my dreams (a dream where sushi rolls fill my stomach and there is nothing to be afraid of except accidently getting wasabi on my chop sticks).

My advice: check out Kiku Sushi. They have the sushi basics and a pretty solid rainbow roll. Hibachi is also available if you aren’t into all the fishy goodness. Kiku Sushi is one restaurant that I and many others are very happy came to Monroe.
