Senior Joni Bourbina said she is feeling rushed and excited about being on homecoming court this year. She has only been on court one other time for Winterfest during her sophomore year.
“Being on homecoming court has made me extremely excited and very anxious,” Bourbina said.
Her excitement for homecoming has brought game to the court as she prepares to get votes. She said she has campaigned by making posters and t-shirts, which she sells for a “reasonable price, in comparison to how much it costs to make them.”
“Winning would be amazing and absolutely exciting,” Bourbina said.
She will be putting her creativity into her skit she will perform at the homecoming assembly Monday.
“I am extremely nervous, but I think I’ll be fine,” she said. She brushes the nervousness off her shoulder as she continues discussing about her skit. She said she will be dancing for her skit but left it as that. She said she doesn’t want to give much away.
She also said she is in love with this years’ homecoming theme “Bright Lights, Big City.”
“I love this year’s theme; not only do I love the city, myself, but the theme is super beautiful and creative.”
Bourbina said dress hunting is still a go as homecoming gets closer. She said her ‘perfect dress’ is yet to be found as she is looking for something “big and flashy”.
When it comes to participating in school sports and activities in or outside of school, she said she doesn’t have much time, but that school and work are important to her.
“I do not participate in any sports or activities. I just go to school and work at Taco Bell,” she said.
