As you may already know, this year ophomore Joni Bourbina was amongst the various nominees for the position of Winterfest princess for the 2013 Winterfest dance here at Monroe High. Bourbina’s funny, outgoing personality is one of the qualities she confessed may have contributed to her nomination from her significant amount of fellow classmates. As surprised as she is, she explains that she does hope that she wins.
Looking past her friendly exterior image, some might not know that Bourbina can be described as a simple girl, quite the same as any typical teenager. She has two sisters and two brothers.
When not in school she enjoys utilizing her free time with the company of her friends and family. She also enjoys spending her past time listening to music, and art.
Within her high school experience so far, she said she could confidently say her greatest achievement, other than the nomination she was recently given, would have to be her grades. Yet on the other hand, Bourbina explained her most embarrassing experience as clumsily falling up the stairs one morning.
“I don’t know how I fell ‘up’ the stairs,” said Bourbina as she laughed off her embarrassing moment.
Even though the inspired sophomore’s favorite hobby is art, out of all the classes she’s taken so far in school, she says her favorite subject is history. As of now, she plans on living in Ann Arbor and attending a school to learn about makeup artistry, in two years after she graduates.
