Monroe High will be offering an ACT Prep Class to all current MHS students. The classes have been running since Jan. 7 and will run through Feb. 19. All classes will be held in Lecture Hall No.1. It will be from 2:30-3:45 p.m.
The classes are divided into three courses. Every Wednesday through February 11, Post-Secondary Planner Savannah Wendt will be teaching Writing. During the writing course, she will be teaching timed writing, how to communicate effectively in writing, and how to write argumentative essays. She will be giving practice tests.
Reading will be another course offered to help students prepare for the ACT. Language Arts co-teacher Laura Jacquin will be teaching it. This class will be Thursday through Jan. 29. She will teach strategies to improve reading comprehension, critical thought and reading test scores.
Science is the last class that will be provided. It will be taught by science teachers Alka Pandya and Kristen Hovest. It will be held every Thursday, Feb. 5-19.
