On June 8, the defending NBA champions, the Miami Heat bounced back from a game one loss to the San Antonio Spurs and won game two 98-96, to tie the final series, one game apiece.
Heat forward LeBron James led the Heat in scoring with 35 points, and Chris Bosh chimed in a very timely three pointer to take the lead late in the fourth quarter.
“When we get stops and we don’t turn the ball over, we’re a very dangerous team. We just kind of got up in them a little bit more,” said James in an interview with USA Today.
James’ performance came after a disappointing game one loss which saw him leaving early in the fourth quarter due to cramps, which stirred up plenty of controversy and drama.
Before game two started, the air conditioner in the AT&T Center malfunctioned, and temperatures inside the arena reached the high 90’s, apparently causing James to become dehydrated and experience tight muscles.
As for San Antonio, the Heat’s comeback win snapped their 9 game home postseason win streak, even with solid contributions from veteran forward Tim Duncan who scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, and Manu Giniboli who scored 19 points and dished out four assists.
