MHS varsity volleyball swept Monroe Pride night on Sept. 26, taking a victory after winning the first three games played.
The game was ended early and the last two out of the five matches normally played, weren’t; due to Monroe’s up-set over Pioneer.
Senior captain Elise Zawacki served, sending over a free ball. Senior Kristen Scheer passed it to junior Christine Tylutkii. She set it to junior Erica Chappell, who then hit the ball down for a kill.
The team has high hopes for this continuing season and looks forward to what’s going to be next.
“We’ve beaten Pioneer twice already, but we still went out and played with a lot of heart to beat them in three games. We’ve improved so much already,” said Scheer. “I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings us.”
Our MHS varsity volleyball team has put fourth an exceptional amount of effort this year in their season. Practicing Monday through Friday after school has given them a chance to enhance their talent. With over 50 plays in each game, these girls continue to do their best.
“My team has really worked hard for where we’re at and all 13 of us proved that last Thursday,” said senior Alexandra Sauer.
Team work, is the best work and according to these girls, that’s exactly how they achieved this win.
“We worked together, played hard and deserved that win,” said senior captain Alexandra Stein.
The team was ecstatic about their win against pioneer.
“We all worked well together as a team and kicked some butt,” said junior Hannah Ellison.
The MHS varsity volleyball team also participates in tournaments on the weekends and will play in its next game on Tuesday against Ann Arbor Huron for parent night.
